Abayawardena, From the 1st of May to 4th of May this year in Brazil, Green political parties, movements, activists and young greens from all over the world are about to get together for the 2nd Global Greens conference. This is considered as a land mark, since the 2001 first global greens conference managed to most highlighted charter of Canberra. This is due to take place in a time where the climate change has caused a massive catastrophe in a global scale. Just minutes after CT land authorities contacted FCYG president, Barclays Trading company too showed their commitment by supporting our cause.....Despite the financial crisis that the organizing committee is facing right now, every one involve in the campaign looks pretty confident about the outcome. FCYG seek all public places
to shutdown lightings and A/C on Dec 8th
Members of FCYG executive committee today decided to request all administrated of public places run by private owned companies to turn off lightings and A/C on December 8th at 10 am for 3 minutes to support the international climate action day. For parties whose, turning off of lighting is not in practical modes, FCYG wishes to request to dim the lightings and display a FCYG Action poster to mark their support to the international campaigners around the world who are fighting for a better world. A greener Air Port from Lanka who support Global Climate Action On December 8th, a day which Sri-Lankan young greens received a very encouraging news. Authorities of the Katunayake Bandaranayeke International Air-Port agreed to hit their power consumption on December 8th at 10 am to support the Global Fight against Global Warming.. Hon. Chairman, Manager Air port and senior assit. managers along with other staff acted a very important and a enthusiastic role in this real important decision. They also agreed to allow FCYG campaigners to place few banner stands in side terminal area. According to well informed sources, Bandaranayeke International Air Port in the first and only international Air Port in the world who had agreed to comply with any particular Global Climate Action supporting UN's Climate initiative.
